The Pou and Loire-Nieuport 250

Two oldies, a Joe Ott plan for the Loire-Nieuport 250 and an "Interesting Little Plane - Pou" from March 1941 Aeromodeller.

The L-N 250 might not qualify as a Dime Scaler, with 3/64" sheet balsa called out for the ribs; use 1/16" balsa throughout to qualify. There is not much info available on this bird; only one was ever built, in 1935. For FAC competition, the extended landing gear can be omitted. A 6" prop with two strands of 3/16" rubber would be a good try for it. Color scheme might be khaki over all and the French roundel of red, white and blue. Go to plan

The "little plane," dubbed "pou" (flea) by Mr. McDougall, is "sufficiently strong and stable to ride out any but the strongest winds," according to the author, and it rarely lands without accomplishing at least half a minute duration." There is no indication as to the size of the model, and it is not possible to deduce it by measurements of the plan. Enlarging the plan 1.5 times will produce a 15" model, a reasonable size.
