Now, relax and take a look at "Kewpie," a plan that appeared in April 1941 Model Airplane News and is provided by Al Backstrom. Thanks, Al. And thanks, Louis Hetlage (the author-designer), wherever you are. Some notes have been added to the plan by your editor; they are based on the article text. The model was originally intended for indoor flying but the author assures us, "If you can't use the local auditorium, fly Kewpie outdoors, as she's a rugged little ship." Try using a 4" or 4-1/2" Peck plastic prop for this little beastie if you don't feel like carving the 6" whopper shown., particularly if flown out doors. The rubber motor specified is probably too weak to turn the 6" prop with authority when flown outside. |
